Procedure
Dentures
A removable, full-arch replacement for missing teeth.

In short
A complete acrylic denture at Somosot Dental is ₱6,000 per arch — a removable replacement for the teeth in an upper or lower jaw, custom-moulded to your mouth. New dentures normally take some getting used to: some patients adapt within a few weeks, others need longer and several adjustment appointments. Dentures are not fitted once and forgotten; as the gums and jawbone change, they may need adjustment, relining, rebasing or replacement, and there is no fixed schedule that applies to everyone.
Overview
Dentures are removable appliances that replace some or all of your natural teeth, restoring the ability to chew and speak along with your smile. Somosot Dental fits complete acrylic dentures, custom-molded to your mouth. New dentures normally require an adjustment period.
Who may benefit
- Patients missing all teeth in an arch
- A more affordable alternative to implant-supported replacement
- Restoring bite function and facial support after multiple extractions
When it may not be suitable
- Extractions or gum treatment have to happen first, and the tissues need time to settle before a final denture is made.
- An implant-supported option suits you better. A denture is the more affordable route, not automatically the right one.
- You cannot manage the daily cleaning a denture needs, in which case that is worth raising before rather than after.
Examination and records normally required
- Moulds of the gums and a record of how the jaws meet
- An examination of the remaining teeth and the supporting tissues
- A trial denture, checked for fit, appearance and bite before the final one is made
How Somosot Dental approaches this
- A try-in stage before the final denture, so fit, appearance and bite are checked while they can still be changed.
- Dentures are designed and produced in the clinic's own laboratory, using exocad and the in-house printer where the case suits it.
- Review appointments are part of the treatment rather than an extra — the tissues under a denture keep changing after it is fitted.
Technology at the Bohol branch
- In-house dental laboratory, with exocad design and an 8K resin printer
- Digital intraoral scanners for the scan the design is built from
Laboratory work is produced at the Bohol branch. Cases seen in Cebu are handled by the same clinic to the same specifications; ask the Cebu branch what that means for the number of visits your case needs.
Treatment stages
Impressions & bite registration
Your dentist takes molds of your gums and records how your jaws align.
Fitting & try-in
A trial denture is checked for fit, appearance, and bite before the final version is made.
Final fitting
The finished denture is fitted and adjusted. New dentures normally require an adjustment period — some patients adapt within a few weeks, while others may need more time and several adjustment appointments.
Ongoing review
Dentures and the tissues supporting them should be checked regularly. As the gums and jawbone change, dentures may eventually require adjustment, relining, rebasing, or replacement. There is no fixed replacement schedule that applies to every patient.
Important limitations and risks
- A denture restores chewing and speech to a degree. It is not equivalent to natural teeth.
- Sore spots, looseness and difficulty chewing are common early on and are what the adjustment appointments are for.
- The gums and jawbone continue to change, so a denture that fits today will not fit indefinitely.
- Regular toothpaste can be too abrasive for some denture materials, and repairs should not be attempted at home.
- Dental examinations remain necessary even with no natural teeth left.
What affects how long it takes
- Whether extractions are needed first, and how the tissues settle afterwards
- How many try-in and adjustment appointments the fit needs
- How quickly you adapt to wearing it
What affects the price
- How many arches — the ₱6,000 figure is per arch.
- Any extractions needed before the denture is made.
- Later relining, rebasing or repair, which are separate from the denture itself.

Frequently asked questions
Will they feel natural right away?
New dentures normally require an adjustment period. Some patients adapt within a few weeks, while others may need more time and several adjustment appointments.
Can I eat normally?
It helps to start with softer foods and build back up as you get used to chewing with dentures. Return to the clinic if chewing remains difficult.
Do dentures need to be replaced?
Dentures and the tissues supporting them should be checked regularly. As the gums and jawbone change, dentures may eventually require adjustment, relining, rebasing, or replacement. There is no fixed replacement schedule that applies to every patient.
