Dentist & Braces in Tubigon, Bohol — ₱10,000 Downpayment to Start

Somosot Dental Clinic's Tubigon branch runs on-site CBCT, cephalometric, and panoramic imaging with our own in-house dental lab — so most orthodontic cases are planned, fitted, and adjusted without sending you or your records anywhere else. The same equipment is what implant cases are planned on here: where the case calls for it, the CBCT shows the available bone and the structures near it before an implant position is settled, and the lab that makes the restoration is in the same building. Implants start at ₱50,000 for the fixture and its placement, with the crown priced separately. Braces for both arches are ₱40,000 — the same as at our Cebu branch — with treatment here starting on a ₱10,000 downpayment. Dr. Mary Grace Degamo, Dr. Jan Trish Sarong, and Chief Dentist Dr. Jared Somosot handle ortho cases alongside general dentistry — cleanings, fillings, extractions, and same-day work — under one roof.

Getting here

How to get to our Bohol clinic

From Cebu City — by ferry

Tubigon is the closest Bohol port to Cebu City, so sail direct to Tubigon rather than Tagbilaran. Ferries leave from the Cebu City piers — fastcraft crossings take around 1.5–2 hours, and the slower RoRo ferries carry cars and motorcycles if you're bringing your own vehicle. From Tubigon port, the clinic on Santos Baura St., Pooc Oriental is a short tricycle ride away — the port sits right at the town center.

From Tagbilaran City

The clinic is about 50 km north of Tagbilaran along the coastal road through Cortes, Maribojoc, Loon, and Calape — around 1 to 1.5 hours by car or motorcycle. Without your own vehicle, take a Tubigon-bound bus or van from Dao Integrated Bus Terminal.

From anywhere else in Bohol

Take any bus or van bound for Tubigon — the clinic is near the town center and port, on Santos Baura St. in Pooc Oriental, a short tricycle ride from wherever you're dropped off.

FAQ

Bohol branch questions

Somosot Dental Bohol is at 88 Santos Baura St., Pooc Oriental, Tubigon, Bohol 6329 — near the town centre and a short tricycle ride from Tubigon port. We are in Tubigon, on the north-west coast of Bohol; we do not have a branch in Tagbilaran City.

No. No dentist at either branch holds a recognised specialty qualification in orthodontics — what they hold is continuing education in orthodontic care, which is listed course by course on our Meet the Dentists page. We treat orthodontic cases within that scope; a case needing specialist care may be referred to an orthodontist or another suitable specialist, which is the same position the price list takes on complex root canal and gum cases.

One of the dentists at our Tubigon branch — each is listed by name on our Meet the Bohol Dentists page, with their training and what they treat. Which of them sees you depends on what your case needs and who is in that day, so tell us when you book if you would like a particular dentist.

Where the case calls for it, yes. The Tubigon branch has its own CBCT (cone-beam CT) scanner on-site, and for implant cases we use that 3D data to assess the available bone and the position of nearby anatomical structures before planning the implant position. CBCT is not taken routinely — many cases only need a periapical or panoramic X-ray — and whether an implant is appropriate at all still depends on the examination, your bone condition, and your medical history.

It helps to bring a valid ID, any dental X-rays or records you already have (including the USB copy if a previous clinic gave you one), and a list of the medicines you take and any conditions you are being treated for. If the appointment is for a child, bring a parent or guardian. Tell us before any imaging if you are pregnant or think you may be.

Traditional braces for both arches are ₱40,000 — the same at our Tubigon branch as at Cebu. Treatment here starts on a ₱10,000 downpayment, with the balance on a payment schedule agreed during your consultation; that ₱10,000 is how treatment begins, not what it costs.

Traditional braces use fixed brackets and wires adjusted monthly by your dentist, and work well for a wide range of cases including more complex bite corrections. Clear aligners are removable and less visible but depend heavily on patient compliance and aren't suited to every case.

Most traditional braces cases run 12–24 months depending on the complexity of the correction, with monthly adjustment visits throughout. Your dentist will give you a case-specific estimate at your first consultation.

Rinse and brush your retainer daily, keep it in its case when not worn to avoid loss or damage, and avoid hot water or direct sunlight, which can warp it. We provide Hawley and Essix retainer options after treatment — your dentist will confirm your wear schedule.

We recommend booking ahead through Facebook Messenger, which is how we handle scheduling for the Tubigon branch — it ensures a dentist and chair time is available when you arrive.

From Cebu City, take a ferry direct to Tubigon port — it's the closest Bohol port to Cebu, around 1.5–2 hours by fastcraft — and the clinic is a short tricycle ride from the pier. From Tagbilaran, we're about 50 km north via the coastal road (1 to 1.5 hours); Tubigon-bound buses and vans leave from Dao Integrated Bus Terminal.

PhilHealth covers select dental procedures, such as certain extractions, at accredited providers under specific packages. Coverage and accreditation vary, so confirm directly with our Tubigon branch before your appointment.

No — we aren't accredited with Maxicare, Intellicare, Medicard, PhilCare or any other HMO. Treatment here is paid directly. Every price is published on this site so there's no surprise at the chair: braces are ₱40,000 for both arches, with treatment at this branch starting on a ₱10,000 downpayment.

Yes — braces for both arches are ₱40,000, and treatment here starts with a ₱10,000 downpayment, with the balance on a payment schedule discussed at your consultation. That ₱10,000 is how treatment begins, not what it costs.

Our Tubigon branch has CBCT (Cone Beam CT), cephalometric X-ray, and panoramic X-ray on-site, plus our own in-house dental lab and digital intraoral scanners — so most cases are diagnosed, planned, and fitted without an outside referral.

Extractions are done under local anesthesia, so you shouldn't feel pain during the procedure itself. Some soreness afterward is normal and manageable with the aftercare guidance your dentist provides.
